Lincoln Selected One of the
Nation’s
Top 25 Companies for Working Women in 2000
PHILADELPHIA, December 12, 2000 – Lincoln National Corporation (NYSE:LNC),
the parent company of the Lincoln Financial Group of companies has been
selected by Working Woman magazine as one of the top 25 companies in
America for working women. More than 30% of Lincoln’s executive managers are women.
In addition, Lincoln
has been named to Working Woman’s list two out of the three years since
the list was created. Recently Lincoln was also
named as one of the top 10 companies in America for working mothers.
Lincoln was selected for a number of its initiatives
including:
- Lincoln Leadership Legacy Forum: This
corporate-wide, year-long leadership development program enrolls
executives from across Lincoln
businesses. Women comprise 55% of the current class. The goal of this
program is to provide business relevant leadership development through
seminars, readings and discussion sessions.
- Succession Planning and Personal
Development: Offered
to all employees, the program assesses the strengths and weaknesses of an
employee and devises a developmental plan to reach their goal position.
- War for Talent: Recognizing
that employees are a definite competitive asset, LFG has implemented this aggressive
HR strategy to hire top talent that equates to top performance. The
program also insures the right people are matched with the right position.
